We use the WebSocket protocol as the primary communication method, encrypted and secured with WSS. Both the device at the factory and the cloud instance have firewalls configured, allowing only outbound connections. The frontend application uses HTTPS and authentication via JWT and TLS. The device at the factory will also establish an authenticated connection to the cloud via JWT and TLS.

Note: "Penguin" is our internal name for the device at the factory, and "Iceberg" is our internal name for the cloud service.
The Radio Device uses a Mesh Network and operates at 2.4GHz. The Mesh Network extends the range of the devices and makes the system more robust.
